Get WeatherBoard on the App StoreWeatherBoard is designed to provide useful weather, wildfire and air-quality information while collecting as little personal information as possible. This policy explains what the app processes, what stays on your device and when outside data providers may receive a request.
Plain-English summary: WeatherBoard contains no ads, does not track you across apps or websites, does not sell personal information and does not operate a database of user accounts, saved places or location history.
This policy applies to the WeatherBoard iPhone app and the WeatherBoard sections of this website. The app is provided by YOUR_LEGAL_NAME, referred to here as “WeatherBoard,” “we,” “us” or “our.”
WeatherBoard does not require an account. The app does not include advertising SDKs, third-party marketing trackers or a developer-operated analytics service.
If you choose Current Location, Apple’s location services provide the app with the location accuracy you permit. WeatherBoard uses that location to request nearby forecasts, alerts, wildfire information and air-quality data. You can refuse location access and search for a place manually.
A selected location or place query may be transmitted to an outside weather, mapping, air-quality or wildfire service so it can return the requested information. WeatherBoard does not store a server-side copy of your location history. Outside providers may receive technical request information, such as an IP address, according to their own policies.
Saved places, display preferences, notification choices, cached forecast information and similar settings are stored locally on your device. If the app allows you to enter an optional provider API key, that key is stored on your device and sent only to that provider when requesting the feature you enabled. WeatherBoard does not use the key for any unrelated purpose.
iOS controls location permission, notification permission and device backups. You can change those settings in the iPhone Settings app.
WeatherBoard relies on outside services to deliver public environmental information. Which services are contacted can depend on the feature and location you choose.
