Parents have to be a nurse, a teacher, a cleaner, a taxi driver, a cook, an entertainer, and a caregiver. Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent or just giving every available moment to your little ones, have you ever wondered how much you’d be earning for all the jobs you’re doing?

Funky Pigeon, a British online greeting card company has come up with a handy tool to put a number on your salary. Although there are no guarantees that the little dictator(s) you work for are going to pay up. Sorry!

So how does it work?

They identified eight tasks that parents spend their time doing for their kids and found the closest professional equivalent of that task.

Next, they gathered wage and salary data for these eight jobs (from a Canadian job site), and did so for every province in Canada, including over 600 individual towns and cities across the country.

So when you enter your weekly hours into the tool, Funky Pigeon converts them into yearly salaries for each of these jobs.

  1. I’d be earning at least $130K a year. My 3-year-old boss is very demanding. This makes sense for a salary to start, but there is always room for a bonus! 🙂

    1. You should bring that up in your quarterly review!
