I can’t believe that my little girl will be starting pre-school this September. She’s going to have an incredible time as she’s already so sociable.

Every time she sees another child near her age, she’ll introduce herself and ask “What’s your name?”. We’ve been encouraging good manners consistently and really trying to enforce the sharing of toys, although that one has been a little harder.

She’s going to do great things as her education continues and her personality continues to grow into a confident, strong-willed, and hilarious person. Seriously, she’s genuinely funny and she knows it!

We’ve always enjoyed dressing her with a mix of style and fun, which can either be a cute dress, ballet skirt, or plaid or double denim (so that we can match).

As school starts, we’re going to start with a backpack to show off a little personality. The obvious choice, especially as it’s a local brand, is Herschel. If you’re in Vancouver, you’ll discover that pretty much everyone has a backpack from them. I have two! The design ranges are often seasonal, so if you see one you like, pick it up before it’s gone.

We got our hands on a couple of backpacks, mine to hold everything I need for my day, like my laptop, coffee flask, and gym gear. Hers is packed with her lunchbox, her kitty (can’t leave home without it), and a change of clothes (in case of accidents). Although I’m sure we’ll find all sorts of things stuffed into there by the end of her day.
