Flint: Daily Planner for ADHD
Effective date: 21 February 2026
Plain English summary: Flint stores everything on your device. We don’t collect your data, sell it, share it, or send it anywhere. No account. No cloud. Nothing.
1. Who we are
Flint is an iOS productivity app built by James, an independent developer. Flint is designed specifically for people with ADHD who need a calm, private, and friction-free way to organise their day.
This Privacy Policy describes how Flint handles your information — or more accurately, why it doesn’t handle it at all.
2. Data we collect
The short answer
None.
The longer answer
Flint does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any personal data. Everything you create in Flint — tasks, notes, projects, check-ins, voice recordings — lives only on your device, in your device’s local storage.
We have no server. We have no database. We have no analytics pipeline. We cannot see your data because it never reaches us.
What stays on your device
- Tasks, subtasks, priorities, and time estimates
- Notes and brain dumps
- Projects and their settings
- Stoplight check-ins and capacity history
- Voice recordings (processed on-device and immediately discarded after transcription)
- App preferences and colour scheme
3. Permissions we request
Flint requests the following iOS permissions. Each one is used only for the feature it describes, entirely on-device.
Microphone & Speech Recognition
Used for voice task capture. When you tap the voice button, Flint listens and transcribes your speech using Apple’s on-device Speech Recognition framework. The audio is never stored and never leaves your device.
Notifications
Used to send you reminders for tasks with scheduled times or due dates. Notifications are generated locally on your device. No notification content is sent to any server.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in Settings → Flint on your iPhone.
4. Apple system frameworks
Flint uses Apple’s native iOS frameworks for speech recognition (Speech.framework) and notifications (UserNotifications.framework). These frameworks are subject to Apple’s own privacy practices. Apple’s Privacy Policy is available at apple.com/privacy.
Flint does not use any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or tracking libraries.
5. AI-powered features
Flint includes an ‘Extract Tasks’ feature that reads the content of a note and identifies action items. In the current version, this processing happens entirely on your device using local pattern matching — no text is sent to any external AI service.
If a future version of Flint uses an external AI API to improve this feature, we will update this Privacy Policy before that change takes effect and give you a clear choice about whether to use it.
6. Data sharing
We do not share your data with anyone because we do not have your data.
Flint contains no advertising network integrations. Flint is not built on any analytics platform. Your usage patterns, task content, and personal information are never monetised in any form.
7. Data retention and deletion
Your data lives on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete individual tasks, notes, and projects from within the app at any time.
To delete all your data, delete the Flint app from your iPhone. iOS will remove all app data, including every task, note, and project you’ve created. This cannot be undone.
8. Children’s privacy
Flint is rated 4+ on the App Store and contains no content inappropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect any information from users of any age — including children — because we do not collect information at all.
9. Your rights
Because Flint stores no data about you on any server, traditional data subject rights (access, portability, erasure) are all in your hands already. Your data is your device. Delete the app and the data is gone.
If you have questions about a specific scenario — for example, if you use iCloud device backups — please reach out and we’ll help you understand what’s included.
10. iCloud and device backups
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS may include Flint’s local data in your iCloud backup as part of your overall device backup. This is controlled entirely by your iOS and iCloud settings, not by Flint.
Flint does not independently sync with iCloud and does not initiate any iCloud operations. If you’d like to exclude Flint from your iCloud backup, you can do so in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make any meaningful change to how Flint handles data — for example, adding an optional cloud sync feature or external AI integration — we will update this policy and notify you clearly within the app before the change takes effect.
We will never introduce data collection silently or through an update you haven’t consented to.
12. Contact

Flint was built by someone with ADHD, for people with ADHD. The last thing you need is another app harvesting your data. Your thoughts stay yours.
